Question 123

A production division received 45 responses to a customer-service survey distributed to 100 purchasing departments randomly selected from all customers who made purchases in the prior 12 months. Which of the following is the most likely reason that the division manager would be concerned about nonresponse bias in this situation?

    Correct Answer: B

Nonresponse bias occurs when the individuals who do not respond to the survey are systematically different from those who do respond. In this scenario, the division manager would be concerned that the 55 purchasing departments that did not respond might have different opinions or experiences compared to the 45 that did respond. This could lead to an inaccurate representation of customer satisfaction or experiences, skewing the survey results.

Discussion
thabashOption: B

you sent a survey to 45 customers who purchased, lets assume only 20 replied they are happy, the fear here maybe the balance who didn't reply are not happy, so the survey result received which says all are happy customers are not true. because we don't know what other customers feels
