Question 142

An audit of an organization's fulfillment department discovered that problems in the order processing system led to a significant number of orders being fulfilled multiple times. During the exit conference, the head of the department informed the auditors that the processing system would be enhanced within six months to correct the problems. Which course of action should the chief audit executive follow?

    Correct Answer: B

The chief audit executive should monitor the status of corrective action and schedule a follow-up engagement when appropriate. This approach ensures that the CAE stays informed about the progress of the corrective actions and can verify their completion and effectiveness without prematurely committing to a fixed six-month period, allowing for flexibility and responsiveness to the situation's developments.

Discussion
KonradKOption: D

Why not D when CAE first needs to assess the Corrective Action and schedule a follow-up. If management provided timeframe within 6 months, CAE assess the Corrective Action and schedule a follow-up after six months period because within this time management decided to correct the process.
