Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

To identify components of a telecommunications system that present the greatest risk, an internal auditor should first determine the business purpose of the network. Understanding the purpose of the network is crucial because it allows the auditor to identify which components are critical to the achievement of business objectives. This information is fundamental in evaluating which parts of the network are most essential and thus most at risk, as any failure in these components would have a significant impact on the organization's operations.

1- The internal auditor seeks to identify risks related to components (not to the whole system) 2- In the risk analysis process, we first look at the objectives (linked to the activities) before identifying the risks that may prevent their achievement. 3- In addition to the inherent risk (intrinsic), taking into account the business objective allows to look at the risk appetite (expectations of the Board and Senior Management).
