A Managed WinCollect agent needs an authentication token. Managed WinCollect agents are centrally managed through the QRadar Console, and the token generated on the console is required for their installation to establish a secure communication and management link with the QRadar system. Stand-alone and independent installations typically do not interact with the console in the same managed way and thus do not require the authentication token.
