CIPP-A Exam - Question 82

Which of the following is NOT a substantial source of privacy protection for Hong Kong citizens?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: AB

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a fundamental international document that outlines basic human rights, but it is not specific to Hong Kong nor is it enforceable as law within the region. The Communications and Surveillance Ordinance, the Bill of Rights Ordinance, and the Basic Law are all local legal instruments that provide direct and substantial privacy protections to Hong Kong citizens.

Should be B, as Hong Kong is not a signatory to the UDHR. A, C and D are the various constitutional protections of privacy in Hong Kong.
