In OSPFv3, router IDs can be used automatically generated by the system.
In OSPFv3, the router ID must be configured manually. Unlike OSPFv2, which can automatically generate a router ID based on the loopback address or the highest IP address of an active interface if not explicitly set, OSPFv3 requires the router ID to be manually specified. If a router ID is not set, OSPFv3 will fail to function correctly.
I thought router-ids must be configured manually
In OSPF it can take loopback address as an Router ID or highest IP address from up interface but in OSPFv3 you have to set it manually. It's false.
FALSEEE
The router ID of OSPFv3 must be manually
manually
". The router ID of OSPFv3 must be manually set. If no router ID is set, OSPFv3 fails to run normally." - 7.6.1.1 Enabling OSPFv3, https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1000047418?section=j00a
in ospfv3 it is manually
in ospf it does automatically if one does not set the router ID. But in ospfv3 it does not. ID has to be configured manually. Hence it is False
"Huawei:If the administrator does not configure a global router ID or configure a router ID for a specific dynamic routing protocol on the device, the router selects a router ID based on IP addresses of current interfaces."
not in ospfv3, when you are using ipv6 all the addresses are in ipv6 when the router-id is in ipv4 format, you can assign an ipv6 address to be a router-id
