Ethernet A-D (Auto-Discovery) routes are used by EVPN to achieve fast convergence and implement split horizon. These routes allow for rapid detection of changes in the network, ensuring quick updates to the routing information. Additionally, the split horizon mechanism, which prevents routing loops by not allowing a route learned from one interface to be advertised back out the same interface, is efficiently managed through Ethernet A-D routes.
