HPE6-A45 Exam - Question 10

An AOS-Switch needs to be configured to support tunneled node in role-based mode. The Mobility Controller administrators tell the switch administrators that the

AOS-Switch will integrate with a cluster of Mobility Controllers. The cluster virtual IP address is 10.1.1.10.

How should switch administrator integrate the AOS-Switch with the cluster?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

To integrate the AOS-Switch with the clustered Mobility Controllers, the switch should use the virtual IP address as the tunneled-node-server address. The cluster's virtual IP address will allow the switch to learn the actual IP addresses of the controller members dynamically, ensuring proper load balancing and failover. This addresses both connectivity and redundancy without needing to specify individual controller IP addresses for each role.

Answer is C: "You only need to set a single tunnel node server IP. Use the VIP for the cluster. When the switch contacts the VIP, it will in turn, receive assignments with the actual IP address of the MC's in the cluster.

When the switch uses role-based tunneled-node, it can tunnel traffic to clustered MCs. These MCs typically also use VRRP, although not always. However, the cluster enables load balancing and failover capabilities beyond the VRRP mechanisms. With this method, again, you only need to set a single tunnel node server (controller) IP address on the AOS-Switch. Use the virtual IP address for the cluster. When the switch contacts this IP address, it receives assignments with the actual IP addresses of two MCs. One is the switch’s active Switch Anchor Controller (A-SAC), and the other is the switch’s standby SAC (S-SAC). The switch establishes tunnels with both controllers.

the answer is C. Cluster enables load balancing and failover capabilities beyond the VRRP mechanisms. The switch receives Ip addresses and create a tunnel to A-ASC and to S-ASC so redundancy is done.
