HPE6-A41 Exam - Question 50

Refer to the exhibit.

Prior to implementing OSPF on the network, an ArubaOS switch had the IP routing table shown in the exhibit.

The network administrator then sets up OSPF in the network. The switch calculates these OSPF routes to 10.1.20.0/24:

✑ Through 10.1.0.1 with cost 2 and administrative distance 110

✑ Through 10.1.0.2 with cost 3 and administrative distance 110

✑ Through 10.1.0.3 with cost 4 and administrative distance 110

How does the switch now handle traffic that is destined to the 10.1.20.0/24 network?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

The switch will continue to prefer the static route to 10.1.0.3 for traffic destined to the 10.1.20.0/24 network because the static route has an administrative distance (AD) of 1, which is lower than the AD of the OSPF routes (110). Routing decisions are primarily based on the AD, and the route with the lowest AD is preferred. Therefore, it sends all of the traffic to 10.1.0.3 as per the static route.

The switch will prefer the static route assuming the original static route is not removed. The static route has an AD of 1 which beats the OSPF AD of 110. Answer is correct with A

Should be D. Lower OSPF cost equals higher priority
