What feature is now available to be configured?
When a server has multiple Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) installed, it enables the configuration of multi-path load-balancing. This feature allows the server to use multiple paths for data transfer to storage devices, which can improve redundancy and performance. Multi-path load-balancing helps in distributing the load evenly, preventing any single path from becoming a bottleneck due to excessive traffic, and provides failover capabilities in case one of the paths fails.
Multipath load balancing across all installed HBAs (ports) in a server prevents any path from becoming overloaded, and it helps to prevent the congestion that occurs when many IO operations are directed to common devices along the same path. For asymmetrical arrays, it also ensures that load balancing is performed only by using optimized paths.
