HPE6-A41 Exam - Question 42

Refer to the exhibit.

A network administrator wants to set up a link aggregation between two switches, as shown in the exhibit. The link aggregation must meet these requirements:

Protects against misconfiguration

Can be configured with VLANs and other settings

Which type of link aggregation should the administrator create?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

To set up a link aggregation that protects against misconfiguration and can be configured with VLANs and other settings, the appropriate choice is dynamic LACP. Dynamic LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol) can actively negotiate the aggregation with the peer switch, ensuring correct configuration and providing flexibility, including the ability to integrate VLAN settings and other configurations. Static LACP or a manual trunk would not offer the same protections against misconfiguration and dynamic negotiation capabilities.

LACP Operational Modes: 1.) Static - Creates trk int - Active/Active mode - Recommended by Aruba 2.) Dynamic - No trk int - LACP enabled on physical ints, not logical ints - Active/Active OR Active/ Passive modes - Allows for standby links - DOES NOT SUPPORT NON-DEFAULT VLAN ASSIGNMENTS OR VARIOUS OTHER SETTINGS ON THE AGGREGATION Therefore, static LACP is correct in this case

I think A is correct. There is no such thing as "static" LACP. It's either a static channel (trunk) or a dynamic one (LACP).
