HPE0-S22 Exam - Question 24

A customer needs high performance computing (HPC) and a small-scale solution with up to eight processors. The solution should also provide storage in a modular form factor. The customers HPC application is designed so that some nodes act as compute nodes while others act as storage nodes that serve data to the compute nodes.

Which HPE Apollo system is most appropriate for this situation?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

The HPE Apollo r2800 is the most appropriate solution for this requirement. It supports a small-scale setup with up to eight processors and provides the needed modular form factor allowing for flexibility in node configuration. This means it can be configured so that some nodes act as compute nodes while others serve as storage nodes, which aligns with the customer's needs.

B=Correct The Apollo r2200 and r2800 would both be a possible candidate with 4 x dual CPU servers, but the request is that some nodes must be compute nodes and some must be data nodes. The r2200 has fixed disks to every node, whereas the r2800 can be flexible e.g. 2 nodes with two disk drives and two nodes with 4 disk drives. Therefore, B is a more correct answer
