Switch-1 has a power issue that causes it to fail. When Switch-1 comes back up, endpoints lose connectivity for a few minutes. The network administrator decides to enter this command on Switch-1:

Exhibit 2 shows the VRRP configuration just after the change. What is the effect of this change?
The command 'vlan 10 vrrp vrid 10 preempt-delay-time 120' sets a preemption delay timer for Switch-1. This means that when Switch-1 comes back up after a failure, it will wait for 120 seconds before attempting to take over as the Master in the VRRP setup. The preempt delay helps in ensuring that Switch-1 has enough time to fully initialize and stabilize before taking over, thereby preventing any connectivity issues caused by abrupt role changes. B is the correct answer. The PDT is applied only during initialization of the router, that is, when the router is rebooting with the VRRP parameters present in the startup config file.
Answer is D: When a VRRP router OWNS the VIP it will take over the master role regardless of and Preempt Mode or Preempt Delay. You should instead configure so that no single router owns the the VIP. Use Priority settings and pre-emption to allow a router to build out it's routing table before it becomes the master.
D is the right one
The VRRP router that is assuming the responsibility of forwarding packets sent to the IP address(es) associated with the virtual router, and answering ARP requests for these IP addresses. Note that if the IP address owner is available, then it will always become the Master. (RFC 3768)
Changing the preemption delay doesn't influence the current behavior of the switches. So the switch did as before. Only when an error occur the switch 1 waits 120 seconds to become the master.
