HPE6-A45 Exam - Question 61

Refer to the exhibits.

Exhibit 1 -

Exhibit 2 -

The IP phone in the exhibit is set up to complete 802.1x authentication to the network. How can the netwotk administrator prevent a user on the computer from receiving network access without authentication?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: C

The correct answer is to enable static mode port security on interface 1. This configuration involves specifying which MAC addresses are allowed on the port, ensuring that only the trusted devices (such as the IP phone) can access the network without needing to compromise the existing 802.1X authentication. Setting an 802.1X client limit would not adequately prevent unauthorized access by an additional device, such as the connected computer. Therefore, port security is the appropriate measure.

The answer is A because the port has 802.1X enabled and in this case it is not possible to manually configure MAC limits on the port nor even is a MAC-Based VLAN use case.
