HPE6-A41 Exam - Question 28

A server connects to a port on an ArubaOS switch. The network administrator wants to ensure that the port remains forwarding during MSTP topology changes, and changes in the port status do not cause MSTP topology changes.

Which statement describes how the administrator can accomplish this?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

The administrator can accomplish this by accepting the default behavior of auto-edge. Auto-edge ensures that the port will immediately transition to the forwarding state upon linkup, and it will not cause MSTP topology changes due to changes in its status. This is suitable for edge ports connected to end devices where there are no bridging loops expected.

Correct answer is 'A'. If you disable STP on the port, technically yes it would have the same effect, however if a look was introduced through that port STP would be unable to block it.
