nse5_fmg-72 Exam - Question 10

An administrator has assigned a global policy package to a new ADOM called ADOM1.

What will happen if the administrator tries to create a new policy package in ADOM1?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

When a new policy package is created, FortiManager automatically assigns the global policy package to the new policy package. This is because the global policy package is already assigned to the ADOM, and FortiManager applies it by default to any new policy packages created within that ADOM.

"B".... question does not have full details, but while assigning global pp to ADOM1, if "All Policy Packages" options is selected then creating new pp will automatically have the global pp: so answer can be "B"

When assigning Global Policy packages to ADOMs you must chose: • All Policy Packages: Assigns the global policy package to all policy packages. • Specify Policy Packages to Exclude: Assigns the global policy package to all except the specified policy packages. • Specify Policy Packages to Include: Assigns the global policy package to only the specified policy packages. The question don't mention which assignment option was selected, so assuming that first option 'All Policy Packages', then B is correct. Option A would be wrong because Global Policy Packages are assigned to ADOMs, not imported. Option C doesn't make any sense at all, obviously wrong. Option D is probably wrong, ideally it should be tested on a lab. I couldn't find any "option to assign the global policy package" when creating new policy packages.

Only if "All Policy Packages" options is selected in the Global header/footer policy assignment then creating new policy-package will automatically have the global heather/footer policy included ! And only then the answer is B (but that is already a big assumption)

C is correct Newly defined policy packages created after a global policy is applied to an ADOM do not automatically include the global policy. Administrators must manually include the global policy in each new policy package to ensure the global rules are enforced.

If global policy has already been assigned to one ADOM and afterward you a new Policy Package in that ADOM, Global header and footer policy will be assigned automatically to that new policy package as well. No additional activity is required at the Global ADOM level. Chris Hall - Fortinet Technical Support
