Why are users unable to connect directly to the application servers?
Based on the network topology and packet capture provided, it is clear that users are able to access the application through the virtual server but are unsuccessful when connecting directly to the application servers. This indicates that the return traffic is not reaching the clients directly. This is often due to the web server not having a correct default gateway, which prevents it from sending the return traffic correctly. To fix this, the web server's default gateway needs to be correctly configured to ensure that it can properly route return traffic to the clients.

Agreed, A could also work, but E provides better security as traffic must also pass through the F5 first.
B - Correct Traffic passing through LTM when trying to connect directly to Server, but not coming back from Server. SNAT is used when client connects via Virtual Server which is why the Server can connect back in that scenario.
