LDNS probes are used in GTM devices to gather information about the local DNS servers making requests. They check each requesting LDNS that has made a request of the GTM, are used to develop path metrics, verify the link between a data center and an LDNS, and the probing takes place if GTM is configured to use dynamic load balancing.
