312-49v10 Exam - Question 337

In which implementation of RAID will the image of a Hardware RAID volume be different from the image taken separately from the disks?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: CD

In RAID 0, data is striped across multiple disks without redundancy. Therefore, an image taken from the hardware RAID controller would combine data from all disks into a single image. In contrast, images taken separately from each disk would contain only the striped portions of data specific to that disk, making them different from the combined hardware image.

D < https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/IR/nistir7276.pdf .... due to the nature of a RAID systems operation, the apparent accuracy of disk images can be impacted. For example, if a RAID is imaged through the hardware controller the resulting image will most likely be different than if each participating hard drive is imaged separately.

C. Data is striped so is different. It is not always different as raid 1 is same.
