Question 12

A company has an existing 8-node F800 Isilon cluster with two Z9100 Dell Ethernet back-end switches running on OneFS 8.2.0. The company is planning to add 72 A200 nodes into the cluster. What is the minimum number of additional switches required to support the configuration?

    Correct Answer: C

Given the existing 8-node F800 Isilon cluster and planning to add 72 A200 nodes, the total number of nodes becomes 80. Each Z9100 switch has 32 ports. Even though there may be uplinks and configuration considerations, a general rule is each switch typically supports around 40 nodes efficiently. Since just two switches would be insufficient for 80 nodes, four switches would be the minimum required to handle the configuration effectively.

Discussion
Shetty77Option: C

o Z9100 Switch comes with 32 Ports.  22 downlink per leaf x 40 Gb port  10 uplinks per leaf x 100 Gb Port o Each leaf switch can connect 22 Performance Node or 88 Archival Node with Breakout cable for downlink. As per my knowledge we need additional 4 Switches to configure with Spine and leaf concept.

redcupOption: A

With 2 Z9100 switches as spine switches, any node count greater than 66 nodes and up to and including 132 nodes, requires, at minimum, 2 leaf switches.
