PAM-SEN Exam - Question 9

During the PSM installation process, Safes and a User are created.

In addition to Add Safes, Add/Update Users, Reset Users’ Passwords, and Activate Users, which authorization(s) does the Vault user installing the PSM need to enable them to be successfully created?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

During the PSM installation process, the vault user performing the installation needs to have specific authorizations to create Safes and Users. Among the listed options, 'Manage Server File Categories' is a valid authorization that the user needs. 'Manage Directory Mapping' is not required, and 'Manage Vault File Categories' is not a valid authorization. Therefore, the correct answer is to have 'Manage Server File Categories' authorization.

When inspecting vault authorisations under PrivateArk Client > Tools > Users > Users and Groups > *user* > authorizations, it is clear that there is only one vault file category authorisation; "Manage server file categories". The authorisation "manage vault file categories" does not exist. This may be due to an update which has not been reflected in the documentation. For this reason, the only possible solution is B.

The answer is A. The documentation needs to be correcte3d, there is no Vault Authorization called "Manage Vault File Categories"

Gotta fix the ratio. Answer is B. Yes, the documentation says Manage Vault File Categories; No that is not a real authorization, it is a mistake. Install CPM has the same vault authorizations, shown here: https://docs.cyberark.com/PAS/13.2/en/Content/PAS%20INST/CPM-install-requirements.htm?tocpath=Installation%7CInstall%20PAM%20-%20Self-Hosted%7CInstall%20CPM%7C_____2#Vaultuserauthorizations

After taking the exam, I suspect this was the question I missed, so if I took it again I would pick A. If anyone gets 100% with this question, please confirm.
