To locate a non-802.11 device causing interference on the WLAN, using a laptop-based spectrum analyzer with a directional antenna is the best solution. The directional antenna allows for more accurate pinpointing of the source of interference by providing directional feedback, which helps in narrowing down the location as you move around. An omnidirectional antenna would pick up signals equally from all directions, making it harder to isolate the source.
may be C. only with a laptop and directional antena you can identify the source of interference.
I will say C as well. While an AP spectrum analyzer and a Laptop-based spectrum analyzer with omni-directional antenna may be able to check for non-802.11 interference within an RF environment, neither can provide more certainty to the WLAN administrator as par the actual location of the non-802.11 interference source. Only as the WLAN engineer/administrator moves around with a laptop (in which is installed a spectrum analyzer software) with directional antenna will s/he be able to pinpoint the actual location of the non-802.11 interference within the RF environment.
