THE REAL ANSWER. PII >> 3 PHI >> 6 IP >> 4 CC >> 1,5 Public> 2 ----------------- Degaussing >> 3,4 Shredding >> 1,2,5,6

BD69

Employee records are PII

expoxure

braindead ong PII >> 5 PHI >> 6 IP >> 4 CC >> 1 Public> 2 ----------------- Degaussing >> 2,4,5 Shredding >> 1,3,6

AspiringNerd

If 3 is PII should 5 be PII?

a15cd10

how are you going to shred a flash drive or SSD? It says physical destruction VIA shredding, not physical destruction OR shredding.

Gigi42

physical shredding with a jack hammer. I learned that while getting my cert for CompTia A+

DashRyde

PII >> 3 PHI >> 6 IP >> 4 CC >> 1 & 5 Public>2 ----------------- Degaussing >> 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 Shredding >> 1-6 ---------------

DashRyde

Not sure about "5" employee records it could be anything TBH

Paula77

Employees records are PII. Anything that can be used to identify a person uniquely (by itself or in conjunction with other information) is considered PII.

DashRyde

This one in the Exam | Toke my exam 10-22-2023 | Scored 808/900

80flav

degaussing does not work on an SSD, so 5 should be under shredding as well. not sure about category, might be PII but CC is possible as well.

BD69

Multi-pass Wipe works on SSDs

BD69

scratch this comment - unless it's Secure Wipe, artifacts from marked sectors/sections can remain. multi-wipe is out as a means of destruction

Paula77

5 is PII not CC. Employees records are PII. Anything that can be used to identify a person uniquely (by itself or in conjunction with other information) is considered PII. The employees records usually include names, addresses, Tax information, bank accounts no., Employer Identification Numbers, education. They are even classified as ''Sensitive PII''.

I took my test 12/16/23 and scored 829/900. This PBQ was on my exam, and I did not miss any questions in the 2.7 OBJ. So I am fairly confident that I answered this correctly. PII-3 PHI-6 IP-4 CC-1, 5 Pub-2 Degaussing/Wiping-3, 5 Shredding- 1, 2, 4, 6

haibrecol

Also, I found this reference in CompTIA CertMaster: "Some office shredders can destroy optical media too. Industrial shredders can destroy hard drives and flash drives."

j904

degaussing does not work on SSD...

Paula77

PII - 3 & 5 PHI - 6 IP - 4 CC- 1 Public - 2 Degaussing: 3 & 4 Shredding: 1, 2, 5, 6

BD69

What I came up with, too! Makes perfect sense.

how many questions you got from this website in your exam.

Soleandheel

This question was on my exam too. Just passed it today 11/15/23 ....800/900 score. Almost all the question on the exam were from here. You're in the right place guys. These are the real exam questions. Let no one tell you otherwise! There's no reason why you should pass if you study the question in this dump.

Ant0507

Congrats! when you say "this dump" what do you mean? ive seen that word a plethora of times in the discussion.

soootired

it means these questions and discussions on exam topics :)

This was in the exam. All the questions were from 1-849. Make sure to understand the questions and the answers. Look it up and study all the details of every question. Don't just memorize it. Understand it and think how you an deploy or use at your work or in enterprise. Exam taken on Mar 2024.

PII: 3, 5 PHI: 6 IP: 4 CC: 1 Public: 2 --------------------------- Degaussing/Multi-Pass Wipe: 2, 3, 4 Physical Destruction via Shredding: 1, 5, 6

Fart2023

There is no "Public" data. My Pick is: PII >> 3, 5 PHI >> 6 IP >> 4 CC >> 1, 2 Public> ----------------- Degaussing >> 3, 4 Shredding >> 2, 5, 6

Fart2023

Sorry forget about the 1. PII >> 3, 5 PHI >> 6 IP >> 4 CC >> 1, 2 Public> ----------------- Degaussing >> 3, 4 Shredding >> 1, 2, 5, 6

memodrums

PII: 3 PHI: 6 IP: 4 CC: 1, 5 Public: 2 -------------- Degauss & Wipe: 3, 4 (cant degauss flash drive and SSD) Destruction via Shredding: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

memodrums

If we can only pick one data destruction method per item I would revise to: Destruction via Shredding: 1, 2, 5, 6

Alphazeero1

PII > 3 PHI >> 6 IP >> 4 CC >> 1 and 5 Public > 3 like DashRyde says Degaussing >> 3, 4 Shredding >> 1, 2, ,5 ,6 i would shred everything but i guess we need to choose the other option too so. (2) Flash drive can only be shredded, (5) SSD too because. Where you can too both with (4)Hard Drive and a (3) backup tape. (1 and 6) are paper Documents i would even burn them :D. Good luck !

Using a multi-pass wipe on SSDs or USB flash drives can be effective and done by overwriting it with multiple patterns of data. tricky question can be both like Degaussing or shredding

Pesos

BD69

What I came up with PII >> 3, 5 PHI >> 6 IP >> 4 CC >> 1 Public> 2 ----------------- Degaussing, Multipass Wipe >> 2,3,4,5 Shredding >> 1,6 Since you wouldn't both degauss and wipe a drive (it's either/or) and flash drives (be it USB or SSD) can be wiped via multi-pass, I kept 2 & 5 at the top, though, it would probably be more prudent to shred them (naturally 1&6 are paper documents, so a no-brainer).

BD69

Boy, that suggested answer is pretty far off!

BD69

I'm 100% confident of the Data Classifications, however, I'm revising destruction to 3,4 (degauss or multi-pass wipe) 1,2,5,6 (physical destruction/shredding) Unless you do a Secure Wipe with an SSD, remnants will remain (and artifacts be recoverable) due to the nature of how SSDs handle wear-leveling (just because a section is marked as suspect, doesn't mean it won't still be able to retain the data in that section or sections). Thumb drives are cheap and not worth doing a wipe on (you can't degauss them either), so into the shredder they go.

anil7

PII ---> 3, 5 PHI ---> 6 IP ---> 4 CC ---> 1, 2 P ---> #----------------------------------------# Degaussing & Multi Wipe ---> 2, 3, 5 Shredding ---> 1, 4, 6

xBrynlee

I had this PBQ on the exam taken this month (SEC+ 601)

gab2024

Maybe this is one of PBQs why I haven't heard anyone yet who took the exam scored above 850. A tricky question for "MOST appropriate form of disposal". I checked on Prof. Messer's video -- you can pretty much SHRED or PULVERIZED anything for complete destruction. Do not think of shredding like paper shredding but industrial shredder. So I ill pick ALL to SHRED.
