Question 412

A technician is equipped with a tablet, a smartphone, and a laptop to troubleshoot a switch with the help of support over the phone. However, the technician is having issues interconnecting all these tools in troubleshooting the switch. Which of the following should the technician use to gain connectivity?

    Correct Answer: A

A Personal Area Network (PAN) is used to interconnect devices within a short range, typically within the range of an individual person. In this scenario, the technician is trying to connect a tablet, a smartphone, and a laptop for troubleshooting. A PAN would be the most suitable solution to interconnect these personal devices, allowing the technician to efficiently use all three in conjunction. The other network types mentioned (WAN, LAN, MAN) are designed for larger-scale connectivity and are not appropriate for this scenario focused on personal device interconnectivity.

MolongoOption: A

The devil is in the details, stupid question. It says the technician is equipped with 3 things that he will use to troubleshoot the switch. Tools = his 3 devices Problem requiring troubleshooting = switch It says he's having trouble interconnecting his tools, which would require a PAN. That's my take at least. I find that with these questions you need to take your time reading the English they use more than anything

ponyboyOption: A

Interconnecting all the tools. NOT the switch

leedsbarberOption: C

However, the technician is having issues interconnecting all these tools in troubleshooting the switch. Which of the following should the technician use to gain connectivity? A PAN is used to interconnect his personal devices. It won't provide a connection to the switch which he is trying to troubleshoot. That requires connectivity to the LAN which the switch is also connected to.

[Removed]Option: A

The question mentions 'with the help of support over the phone' and the issue to interconnect all those tools but not the switch. I believe is A. WTF

b0bbyOption: C

This is an intentional bad question meant to make us put the incorrect answer no matter how smart you are or how hard you studied. your 3/4 (unclear if I'm counting cellphone) devices failed to interconnect with each other and maybe (still unclear) a switch. Now if you say he is creating a Bluetooth connection with all his devices and failing due to BT limitation with multi-device say LAN. Now if you are saying the switch is bad and that's why you can't connect all the devices together go PAN. So my conclusion is grab yourself a quarter flip it and hope your correct. If you are early in your studying do CCNA I regret the path I've taken.

Juliana1017Option: A

it is PAN

famcoOption: A

What was the question about. I could guess from the words used that it is PAN, but man I still do not understand what they want and to ask that in a time-limited exam.

famco

How can a PAN be used to debug a switch?

famco

I will choose LAN because there is a switch involved.

C. Tech is having issues with mobile devices, then he should try troubleshooting with LAN. Just my 2cents

key words "issues interconnecting all these tools" is with his personal devices, thats a pan not a lan

alonksgOption: C

is trying to troubleshoot a Switch with help over phone. having 3 device with him, tablet, smart phone and a laptop. Doing troubleshooting for what? connecting Switch? Troubleshooting Switch or connect the devices? is asking what method to use to gain connectivity. Assume that the switch have WIFI capability, you can connect all four of them together. so is a LAN connection.

JB1705Option: A

PAN is the answer- look at it from this perspective of distance. personal area network which is arm stretch distance.

bdemps98Option: A

Read Monlongo's response. It's definitely A, good catch.

networkmenOption: C

LAN would be the anser to get a connection to the switch itself. With PAN you can get a personal connection to your phone or tablet via bluetooth for example.

networkmen

you cant get access to the switch by connecting ur personal devices

MehsotopesOption: C

There may be interference with the short range Bluetooth network (PAN). The technician can connect wirelessly to the LAN with the phone, tablet, & laptop. Laptop can be connected inline if it has an ethernet port provided. Connecting to the LAN provides a secure connection to the same network as the switch & provides better opportunity for troubleshooting the issue.

maggie22Option: A

with PAN the technician can use a smartphone or a tablet to interconnect all the 3 tools he/she has. Take note the switch has an issue how can a technician use LAN to gain connectivity.

ibrahimshalabiOption: C

A Local Area Network (LAN) is a network that connects devices within a limited area, such as an office, building, or home. LANs allow for the interconnection of devices like computers, tablets, smartphones, and other network-enabled devices in close proximity to one another. By setting up a LAN, the technician can establish a network between their devices to share resources, access troubleshooting tools, and communicate with support over the phone while troubleshooting the switch.
