Question 578

A company would like to provide flexibility for employees on device preference. However, the company is concerned about supporting too many different types of hardware. Which of the following deployment models will provide the needed flexibility with the greatest amount of control and security over company data and infrastructure?

    Correct Answer: D

The Choose Your Own Device (CYOD) model strikes the right balance between allowing employees flexibility in selecting their devices while also maintaining a degree of control and security for the company. CYOD allows workers to choose their preferred devices from a preapproved list, ensuring compatibility and support can be managed more effectively. This approach still provides the flexibility the company seeks but keeps the variety of devices manageable, making it easier to enforce security policies and maintain control over company data and infrastructure.

DogeoOption: B

Answer: B VDI the company is worried about managing to many different types of devices so CYOD won't work. VDI gives everyone the same Virtual desktop regardless of device so there isn't to many different types just the one virtual desktop and the company the control they need over company data.

Dapsie

VDI negates the flexibility they are seeking

sursurOption: D

CYOD allows employees to choose their preferred devices from a pre-approved list of options provided by the company. While it offers flexibility, it also enables the organization to maintain control and ensure security by limiting the device choices to a predetermined set of hardware that meets the company's standards and security requirements. By providing a defined set of approved devices, the company can streamline support, manageability, and security measures for those specific devices. The IT department can focus on thoroughly testing and supporting a smaller range of hardware configurations, which reduces complexity and allows for tighter control over the devices accessing the company's data and infrastructure.

CastratedMonk

I agree with sursur. VID doesn't give the end user an option to choose their device however as a CYOD policy is implemented employees can choose the device they wanted from a pre-approved list the company has made.

Alphazeero1Option: D

Corporate owned, personally enabled (COPE)—means the device is chosen and supplied by the organization and remains its property. The employee may use it to access personal email and social media accounts and for personal web browsing (subject to the requirements of established acceptable use policies). • Choose your own device (CYOD)—is similar to COPE except the employee is given a choice of devices to select from a preestablished list From the SY0-701 book

Alphazeero1

A company would like to provide flexibility for employees on device preference. >>However<<< i wanted to choose B sorry. VDI has the most Security

_deleteme_Option: B

B VDI - key words "security" "control" "infrastructure" - Choosing your own device does nothing for control over infrastructure or security. VDI offers the GREATEST control.

khamvaOption: B

VDI is the best choice. VDI Virtual desktop infrastructure is safest because all of the running application are not from the user's device, it is running from inside the company network and equipment. The company controls the data using the VDI.

ComPCertOnOption: B

VDI I know! but honestly, I have never heard of CYOD before, I will go with what i know.

Gigi42Option: B

read the question slowly and pick out what their desired output.

cannonOption: D

It's CYOD - from approved and secured MDM'd device list. because they state device preference and flexibility. those two things rule out VDI.

HCM1985

VDI can be accessed from Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS or even from a web browser, so how exactly it is not flexible??

shuny

I would like to know this too, seems like VDI is the best option

memodrumsOption: B

A similar question was asked in the 100-200s and I think its B.

dutch001Option: B

VDI is going to be the betst choose. Any device can be used as a thin client , phone, tablet, laptop. No company data is stored on the device. Everything is pulled from the sever, giving the company full control and security over data. In a CYOD configuration you would still have to implenmant some form of control to manage the devices, MDM

maggie22Option: B

I go with VDI. if you lose your device the data and infrastructure still intact somewhere else, that means security as well. Whereas with CYOD when the device is gone the data is gone too.

toffer96Option: D

"flexibility for employees on device preference"... I am guessing they're probably talking about a mobile device and not a laptop? If that's the case, I'd go with D over B.

russianOption: D

I thought C first but D fits it the best

johnabayotOption: B

B. VDI - It will provide flexibility for employees on device preference, as they can use their own devices or choose from a range of devices provided by the company. VDI also provides the greatest amount of control and security over the company data and infrastructure, as the data and applications are stored and managed centrally on the device. This reduces risk of data loss, unauthorized access, malicious apps, and network-based attacks.

TitanbugOption: B

VDI enables staff to connect to a virtual desktop setup from different devices, all the while keeping a hold on company data and infrastructure security. In a VDI setup, the desktop environment operates on virtual machines within the data center, and users have the ability to remotely connect to it using various devices. This offers flexibility in device choice while consolidating control, administration, and security of the virtual desktops.

shaneo007Option: C

C. Cope. I have a COPE mobile phone and have never had or owned my own personal phone. When the devices are upgraded I get to choose which phone I want. I can use the device for personnel use. The device is corporate owned but i personally enable what I want. This offers flexibility for me the employee for device preference, and the company is not supporting to many different types of hardware.

MortG7Option: D

Not sure why we are assuming that device = Desktop or pc ONLY. Answer is D
