Question 48

Scenario: A Citrix Administrator previously configured a Citrix Virtual Desktops Site to use evaluation licenses. The administrator then installed valid advanced licenses on the Citrix License Server and confirmed that licenses show correctly in the licensing console. However, a user reports an issue about logging on to the published desktop. The user receives an error message stating that the evaluation license is about to expire.

What should the administrator do to fix this issue?

    Correct Answer: C

The administrator should remove the evaluation license from the Citrix License Server. The issue is that the Citrix product is still recognizing the evaluation license, which leads to the error message about the evaluation license expiration. Deleting the old evaluation license will force the system to use the valid advanced licenses that have been installed.

CoralonOption: C

The correct answer is C. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/licensing/current-release/troubleshoot.html It is the first on the list of items in troubleshooting: "After you replace the evaluation license files on the License Server with new license files, the Citrix product might display the following license expiration message when users log on: “Warning: The following Citrix Product is using an Evaluation license. This license will expire in…” To resolve this issue: 1. Delete the old evaluation license files from the License Server. For more information, see Delete license files."

seems legit

ArtCOption: D

D, if licenses show correctly in the console you shouldn't have to restart.

OllyThompsonOption: D

D is correct. Eval licenses are premium, so the license type has to be changed in Studio. As the licenses are already showing in the license console, the service doesn't need restarting and the hostname in the license file is correct. Still having eval licenses there means nothing if normal licenses are also there

Jogaz0Option: C

The administrator should do the following to fix the issue: Delete the old evaluation license files from the License Server1. At the License Server, restart the Citrix Licensing service1. At the Citrix product server that needs license validation, point to a fictional License Server and then point the product back to the actual License Server1. If the problem persists, restart the product server (for example, Delivery Controller)1. So, the correct answer is A. Restart the License service and C. Remove the evaluation license.

TIMASAOption: D

Answer is D!! This step is very important when you purchase Citrix licenses, In order to avoid headaches with Citrix License Server you want to make sure that the product edition is selected appropriately.

Andreas123Option: C

The also believe the correct answer is C and not D. With wrong edition setting you get "The licenses required by this edition of Citrix XenApp are not present on the license server" error message and not the "The following Citrix Product is using an Evaluation license." error message. Please refer to https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX133234

m3m0Option: D

I mean that the must correct it is D because the question tell us "The administrator then installed valid advanced licenses" (specific edition) if you delete the old license file and the error not disappear then the second step is change te edition. But if you change the edition from the beginning delete the old file is not necessary. D is the must correct.

D is the correct answer.

Bravo10000Option: C

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/licensing/current-release/troubleshoot.html Evaluation license warning message After you replace the evaluation license files on the License Server with new license files, the Citrix product might display the following license expiration message when users log on: “Warning: The following Citrix Product is using an Evaluation license. This license will expire in…” To resolve this issue: Delete the old evaluation license files from the License Server. For more information, see Delete license files. At the License Server, restart the Citrix Licensing service. At the Citrix product server that needs license validation, point to a fictional License Server and then point the product back to the actual License Server. (See your product documentation for information about changing these settings.) If the problem persists, restart the product server (for example, Delivery Controller).

TedEx2Option: D

it's D - this is the first thing to do. Option C can be needed in some cases

4f6bb17Option: D

Eval licences are platinum and also automatically set as used edition. When adding advance licences, the edition is not set automatically and must be set by the admin and therefore D is correct.

Smitty1954Option: C

The key to this is "However, "a" user reports an issue about logging on to the published desktop. The user receives an error message stating that the evaluation license is about to expire." It says "A" user and not all all users. When you have two sets of valid licenses, the license server will randomly pull from either group of licenses. The same can occur if you have, say, a set of Advanced licenses and a set of Premium and you are running two sites. The site configured for Advanced edition has no issue with stealing Platinum licenses and possibly leaving the Platinum site with a shortage of licenses. The moral of the story is, if you have two sites with different license editions, dedicate a license server to each site.

MassRattlerOption: D

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/licensing/licensing-guide-for-citrix-virtual-apps-desktops. I am going for D. You only have to select. There is no issue.

MassRattler

I am changing my answer to C: If you specifically get the error you delete it.

Depi1Option: D

D is correct as it says "license shows correctly in License console" - prereq. for that is that lic. file contains correct hostname and lic services needs to be already restarted as lic file is already loaded and visible. Evaluation license edition is the highest one (Premium) so if License model - concurrent/user(device) and license edition doesn't match to the bought one that is suppose to be Advanced in the scenario, the site will simply ignore that.

Citrix_Health_NTX2023Option: C

Coralon's comment is correct. See the link there and the first step to correct that message is to delete the old eval license.

jaber1986Option: C

its C as explained by Caralon

d0bermannnOption: D

as eval lic is platinum one, D is most correct of D & C, but i would do C first
