Question 46

Scenario: A Citrix Architect is designing a new Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment. As part of graphics-mode design considerations the architect, determined that one User Group requires hardware acceleration with CPU-enabled Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) machines for 3D graphics-design-type applications.

Which graphics mode needs be configured for this specific group?

    Correct Answer: D

For a User Group requiring hardware acceleration with CPU-enabled Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) machines for 3D graphics-design-type applications, the appropriate graphics mode needs to optimize for 3D graphics workload. Optimizing for 3D graphics workload will configure the necessary default settings that best suit graphically intense applications. Therefore, 'Optimize for 3D graphics workload' should be enabled to meet these requirements.

Discussion
d0bermannnOption: D

for sure 'CPU-enabled Virtual Delivery Agent' is a typo, must be gpu, so D is correct

maurizio_n91Option: D

D is right

patpattyOption: D

"CPU-enabled" has to be a typo. When has anybody ever described something as CPU-enabled? They don't, they say "GPU-enabled." Safe to say that it's a typo in the question, it's actually GPU-enabled, and so the answer is D.

keplerOption: D

the keywords here are "needs be configured". For apps to use the GPU feature, the policy must be enabled. Its like a master toggle switch. Lossless feature is not necessarily needed, but the master switch must be turned on, or GPU is useless.

CitrixNick

Thanks for your input on this questions. Would this make the correct answer = D ?

kepler

D is correct. I personally had configured this for an Engineering client. I enabled build to lossless, the graphic was awefull, until I enabled this "switch", Graphic then worked well.

MekaliOption: A

A is correct. For D you need GPU. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/policies/reference/ica-policy-settings/graphics-policy-settings.html

certhunterfembotOption: D

I'm leaning towards D. "The HDX 3D Pro capabilities in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops enable you to deliver desktops and applications that perform best using a graphics processing unit (GPU) for hardware acceleration." https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/graphics.html

CurryMuncherOption: D

Visual quality = Build to Lossless Is incorrect, as this relates to the "Visual quality" Build to lossless - Sends lossy images to the user device during periods of high network activity and lossless images after network activity reduces; this setting improves performance over bandwidth-constrained network connections. Remember this question has nothing to do with performance or network issues. I would go for D.

CurryMuncherOption: D

Think the answer is D. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/policies/reference/ica-policy-settings/graphics-policy-settings.html Optimize for 3D graphics workload This setting configures the appropriate default settings that best suit graphically intense workloads. Enable this setting for users whose workload focuses on graphically intense applications. Apply this policy only in cases where a GPU is available to the session. Any other settings that explicitly override the default settings set by this policy take precedence. By default, optimize for 3D graphics workload is disabled.

Frank72Option: D

Tricky one... Does "hardware acceleration" mean GPU? If yes, the 3D policy (D) is correct - "Apply this policy only in cases where a GPU is available to the session." https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/policies/reference/ica-policy-settings/graphics-policy-settings.html If no GPU present - then A

TB12isthegreatOption: D

Are the words "hardware acceleration with CPU-enabled " means GPU ? I think that is the meaning of the words....so if it's GPU, answer is D.....I don't like this kind of question that is not evaluating the knowledge but the capacity to understanding the wording.
