Question 43

Scenario: A Citrix Architect is designing a new Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment. Currently, the environment is configured as 2 locations with identical

Citrix Virtual Desktops Sites. Each Site has 2 Delivery Controllers, 2 StoreFront servers, and 1 Citrix ADC high-availability pair. The same applications have been published from both Sites for all users. Two zones (Zone A and Zone B) are configured in each Site with 1 Delivery Controller in each zone. The Microsoft

Exchange server is only accessible from Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) machines in Zone A in each Site.

Six access requirements have been identified:

✑ Users should have a single URL when accessing resources from different Sites.

✑ Users should always connect to the data center closest to their location.

✑ Applications added to Favorites within the Citrix Workspace app should be retained when accessed from different Sites.

Launched applications and desktops should always connect through a local Citrix ADC.

✑ No duplication of applications published from different Sites.

✑ Microsoft Outlook should always launch in Zone A.

What should the architect recommend configuring subscription synchronization to retain applications added to Favorites?

    Correct Answer: C

To ensure that the application subscriptions (such as Favorites) are retained across different Sites, it is necessary to configure subscription synchronization between server groups across the Sites. This is because StoreFront automatically synchronizes subscriptions between servers within the same server group. However, to provide a consistent user experience across different server groups (which are typically in different geographic locations), you need to configure periodic synchronization of users’ application subscriptions between the stores in these different server groups. This setup ensures that users do not need to resubscribe to their applications when accessing from different Sites, thus meeting the requirement for a seamless experience across both locations.

I think C is correct. https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2014/10/10/what-subscriptions-and-server-groups-mean-for-storefront-designs/

buster1294Option: C

I agree with bonepin on C. Store in the same server group will synchronize automatically. It's the data between server groups that you have to worry about. From his citation - "...you will want to share subscription data between the server groups to provide a consistent user experience".

i think B is better, subscription auto sync in the server group, if it another server group, the connection is from single sf server in site a to single sf server in b and then synching in the server group

d0bermannnOption: C

C. Between server groups across the Sites share subscription data between the server groups to provide a consistent user experience

harnieOption: D

Should be D, https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/1912-ltsr/set-up-highly-available-multi-site-stores.html

ctxvadOption: B

I believe the answer is B, you sync between stores and not between server groups is you have multiple sites with there own storefront environement. Subscription synchronization If you enable your users to access the same applications from similar stores in different StoreFront deployments, users’ application subscriptions must be synchronized between the server groups. Otherwise, users who subscribe to an application in a store on one StoreFront deployment might need to resubscribe to the application when they log on to a different server group. To provide a seamless experience for users moving between separate StoreFront deployments, you can configure periodic synchronization of users’ application subscriptions between stores in different server groups. Choose between regular synchronization at a specific interval or schedule synchronization to occur at particular times throughout the day. For more information, see Configure subscription synchronization.

I don't see any indication in the question that multiple stores are configured. Excerpt from course CWS-315 documentation: To provide a seamless experience for users moving between separate StoreFront deployments, you can configure periodic synchronization of users’ application subscriptions between stores in different server groups. Source: Plan your StoreFront deployment https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/1912-ltsr/install-standard/plan.html StoreFront can periodically synchronize subscriptions (favourites) between server groups once between stores and once between server groups. What is the correct answer?

FvicenteOption: B

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/current-release/configure-manage-stores/subscription-synchronization StoreFront automatically synchronizes subscriptions between servers in a StoreFront server group. If you have multiple server groups (typically in different geographic location) then you can configure periodic pull synchronization of users’ subscriptions from stores in different StoreFront deployments. This must be done using PowerShell.

I think, B is the correct answer. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/current-release/configure-manage-stores/configure-two-stores-share-datastore.html We should implement a replication between different Stores, not between different ServerGroups.
