Question 87

Scenario: An additional zone was recently added to a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment. The main zone is located in New York City, and a small, second zone is located in Tokyo. Within the next year, the number of users in Tokyo is expected to equal that in New York City.

A Citrix Architect recommended the addition of 2 StoreFront servers in Tokyo to support the users.

What should the architect recommend for this environment to ensure user-experience consistency and reduce WAN bandwidth consumption?

    Correct Answer: A

To ensure user-experience consistency and reduce WAN bandwidth consumption, the best option is to add 2 StoreFront servers to separate server groups and configure subscription synchronization. This setup allows users in both Tokyo and New York City to access their applications and desktops efficiently without being affected by high latency between the two locations. Subscription synchronization ensures that users have a consistent experience, with their settings and subscriptions being replicated across different server groups without requiring significant WAN bandwidth.

Discussion
citrixmucOption: A

A is the best answer: the question does not ask for external gateway access, C and D are not correct

[Removed]Option: B

Not sure, maybe B is the right one...

steveleek2Option: D

D - Add 2 StoreFront servers to the same server group.

You cannot add 2 Tokyo StoreFront servers to the same (existing) NY group. Latency between Tokyo and NYC is more than 40ms due to distance. Per https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/current-release/plan.html#scalability "StoreFront server group deployments are only supported where links between servers in a server group have latency of less than 40 ms (with subscriptions disabled) or less than 3 ms (with subscriptions enabled)."

I interpreted that answer as adding 2 servers to the same server group... but placing those 2 servers in a server group independently. I mean... you add 2 servers to the same server group, but that server group has nothing to do with the one in NY. hence latency wouldn't be in question...

rgb511Option: A

I vote for A. It's asking for user-experience consistency - subscription synchronization. & the new server group in Tokyo will help with WAN bandwidth consumption. no guaranties though..
