Question 92

Scenario: A Citrix Architect needs to design a new XenApp and XenDesktop environment.

The table in the Exhibit lists details about the requirements of the current user groups and their Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) machine workloads.

Click the Exhibit button to view the table.

The architect should scale the hardware used to host the VMs for User Group 1 to ______ cores. (Choose the correct option to complete the sentence.)

    Correct Answer: A

To determine the number of cores needed for User Group 1, we must first calculate the total number of virtual CPUs required. User Group 1 uses 2 vCPUs per VM, with 40 VMs per host. This results in 80 virtual CPUs (2 vCPUs x 40 VMs). Given the CPU overcommitment ratio of 8:1, we divide the total virtual CPUs by the overcommitment ratio to find the total physical CPUs required. This calculation yields 10 physical CPUs (80 vCPUs / 8). As 10 cores is not an option, the closest available option that ensures sufficient core count would be 32 cores.

I dont get it, should the answer be 10? Overcommitment of 8 virtual cores against 1 physical (8:1) 2 vCPU x 40 machines = 80 vCPU's 80vCPU/8 = 10 pPCU
