Question 47

Scenario: A Citrix Architect is designing a pod-based architecture in a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment. The plan is to create three pods for different

Resource Layer types:

- Windows 10 VDI (non-persistent)

- Windows Server 2016 hosted shared desktops (non-persistent)

- Windows 10 VDI (persistent)

Which three components can be shared between the three pods? (Choose three.)

    Correct Answer: B, C, D

In a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment with a pod-based architecture, multiple components can be shared across these pods for efficiency and centralized management. The Citrix StoreFront can be shared because it provides a unified interface for users accessing their applications and desktops, regardless of the pod. The Citrix License Server is also shareable across pods as it centrally manages the licensing for all the pods. Lastly, Citrix Director can be shared since it is used for monitoring and troubleshooting across the entire deployment, making it unnecessary to deploy it separately for each pod. However, the Citrix Delivery Controller and Citrix Site Database need to be unique to each pod due to their roles in managing and storing the specific configuration and state information of their respective environments.

BCD are right, I read it on CWS415 manuals that I report here: Key Notes: • Typically, components such as StoreFront, Citrix Director, the Citrix Licensing server, and file shares are not included in every pod. These components can serve multiple Sites, although redundancy is still included at the component level. Page 479

BCD just add that Citrix Synergy presentation referenced in CWS415 manual states with POD arch separate SQL DBs required so definitely NOT E. Whole section about reasons why you "Do NOT share SQL between pods!" and states: License Server - Reside outside the pods. Citrix Director - Reside outside the pods. Profiles and Home Directories - outside the pods. StoreFront - section about "Making multiple pods appear as one to the users" i.e. sharing SF between PODs. B,C,D - YES. All outside the POD.

I think that B-C-D are the best answer since Delivery controler / site database must be unique by POD as my understanding...https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2012/04/25/taking-a-modular-approach-to-xendesktop-design/

B&C&D is correct

CurryMuncherOptions: BCD

I agree with TB12isthegreat. Citrix delivery you cannot share, remember there are 3 pods each separate (Desktops and Server side shared desktops) each require a dedicated DC, so you cant share a DC. Answer B/C/D

WaggawaggaOptions: CDE

C,Dand E it’s a pod it needs to be redundant architecturally so you cannot share a DDC or StoreFront as that would affect more than one pod - the rest can fail and not have an impact.

CurryMuncherOptions: BCE

Correction. Answer is B/C/E Resource Layer: The Resource Layer is where all the Citrix workloads reside in this deployment Citrix Delivery Controller and Citrix Director, are NOT a workload but more for administration.

Wrong. A site database can't be shared between pods.

Urgent point to consider in the answer: = ...... for different Resource Layer Type ....
