Question 84

Scenario: A Citrix Architect is implementing a new Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment.

The customer has 3 requirements:

✑ All users must be able to aggregate resources from all Sites.

✑ Both Sites should be treated as 1 equivalent farm set.

✑ User connections should be directed to the New York Site with failover to San Francisco.

Click the Exhibit button to view the StoreFront configurations.

Exhibit 1.

Based on the configurations, requirement 1 is ______________, requirement 2 is ______________, and requirement 3 is ______________. (Choose the correct option to complete the sentence.)

    Correct Answer: B

In the given scenario, neither of the three requirements has been met based on the provided information and StoreFront configurations. 'All users must be able to aggregate resources from all Sites' is not met because both New York and San Francisco sites are listed under 'Not Aggregated'. 'Both Sites should be treated as 1 equivalent farm set' is not met because aggregation settings are not enabled; they are crucial for treating the sites as one equivalent farm. 'User connections should be directed to the New York Site with failover to San Francisco' is not met because 'Load balance resources across controllers' would balance connections rather than directing them with failover.

Discussion
SuperTedOption: B

I think i should correct my self. The right answer is B. All users must be able to aggregate resources from all Sites. Not Met -> Both sites are not aggregated. They are still under 'Not Aggregated' in the GUI. Both Sites should be treated as 1 equivalent farm set. Not Met -> This would be realized with Controllers publish identical resources, but these settings apply to all Sites marked for aggregation. User connections should be directed to the New York Site with failover to San Francisco Not Met -> Load balance resources across controllers - When selected, launches are distributed evenly among the available controllers. When not selected, launches are directed to the first controller specified in the user mapping dialog screen, failing over to subsequent controllers if the launch fails.

hwoccurrenceOption: B

I would choose B.

flo_praOption: B

B for me. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/tech-zone/design/design-decisions/storefront-multisite-aggregation.html#aggregation-options Just as SuperTed explained.

SuperTedOption: G

All users must be able to aggregate resources from all Sites. Met -> Aggregated Controller Settings: Controllers publish identical resources - When selected, StoreFront enumerates resources from only one of the controllers in the aggregated set. When not selected, StoreFront enumerates resources from all controllers in the aggregated set (to accumulate the user’s entire set of available resources). https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/1912-ltsr/set-up-highly-available-multi-site-stores.html Both Sites should be treated as 1 equivalent farm set. Not met -> New York and San Franciso site are not aggregated User connections should be directed to the New York Site with failover to San Francisco Not met -> Load balance resources across controllers: When selected, launches are distributed evenly among the available controllers. When not selected, launches are directed to the first controller specified in the user mapping dialog screen, failing over to subsequent controllers if the launch fails. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/storefront/1912-ltsr/set-up-highly-available-multi-site-stores.html

for sure pic 2 for this question from the question series is omitted, there is a user LB among DDCs group exibited

d0bermannnOption: F

1st & 3rd met (aggregation & resources lb On) / 2nd not met (Controller publish identical resource Off), so F

jdstroyOption: G

Some said F is the right answer but there is only LB to configure in the GUI. For a LB/Failover combination you must alter the web.config. The answer provides no info if user groups are assigned to the sites but if the aggregation of apps from both sites happen also without setting the sites in Aggregation mode. As I said before - G should be right.

jdstroyOption: G

G could be right because all apps are aggregated from both sites. The setting itself called "Aggregation" consolidates apps with same name and path to one icon when the setting "Controller publish identical resources" is checked. The other two settings are obviously not met. It's a little tricky but G should be right... But I'm not sure!

d0bermannn

no way, 1st & 3rd met (aggregation & resources lb On) / 2nd not met (Controller publish identical resource Off), so F

jdstroy

But it's not about LB. The 3rd option requires failover not only LB. Read this: https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2016/09/07/storefront-multi-site-settings-part-2/ (When LB is checked the text is: "To take advantage of the new “load balancing of non-identical sites” 3.6 feature, check the “load balance” option and leave the “identical resources option unchecked as shown below." So if you want failover you have to check only "identical sites". Text in the doc: "Checking only the “identical resources” option results in an equivalent farm set with identical sites configured for failover order" ...or do I get there something wrong?! But I'm quite sure it's correct!

I think we may see lb in this gui as active-active so failover applied
