Question 175

Scenario: A Citrix Administrator has configured a Citrix policy using Citrix Studio. However, when the administrator restarted a Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) machine and launched an HDX session hosted on that machine, the policy settings were NOT being applied.

Which three statements are possible reasons for this behavior? (Choose three.)

    Correct Answer: A, C, E

The reasons the policy settings might not be applied are as follows: If the VDA machine is not registered with the Site where the Citrix policy was configured, then the policy will not be applied to the machine. A policy filter that excludes the VDA machine would prevent the settings from being applied to it. Conflicting Citrix policy settings configured using a Microsoft Group Policy Object can override Citrix policies, as GPOs have a higher priority. These scenarios are all plausible explanations for the observed behavior.

Discussion
CoralonOptions: BCE

D is wrong also - If the VDA doesn't communicate with the Database, only the DDC's do. B,C,E B - Unfiltered policies apply across the board (priority matters here) C - If the filter excludes the machine, the policies won't apply E - GPO's apply after the Citrix policies apply (higher priority; last writer wins) https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/policies/policies-processes.html

majkelOptions: ACE

Correct answers are: ACE "A" is correct - VDA is not registered with the site the policy was configured but can be registered with another site and HDX session is doable "B" is not correct there are no any unfiltered policy "default settings" so they cannot override anything "C" is correct wrong policy filter - this is obvious "D" is wrong VDA does not contact SQL DB "E" is correct conflicting GPO takes precedence over Studio policies

MelkboertjeOptions: BCD

A is not correct because stated is a HDX session is started. If VDA is NOT registered, no HDX session can be made. Therefor it should be BCD

Maxime666

Be carefull, it say that the VDI is not registred on the same SITE but no that the VDA is unregistred.

LovelyColleagueOptions: ACE

ACE: A - If the policy is configured for VDAs in site A, but this VDA is in Site B. C - If the filter does not include this VDA E - If the settings is one that can bedictated both by GPO and Citrix policy, the GPO settings will win. B - The unfiltered policy has no settings by default, so it will not make a conflict. D - The VDA communicates with the DDC and not the Site database.

OllyThompsonOptions: BCE

Answer is B, C and E A - if the machine is not registered with the Site, the session would not launch D - The VDA doesn't communicate with the site database

BCE for sure

I think all of these are right...

ayushwithuOptions: ADE

1. VDA doesn’t communicate with DB. 2. Citrix policies and Microsoft policies don’t conflict normally.

The "Unfiltered" policy is empty in the default state and therefore will NOT overwrite anything. Only DDCs communicate with the site database. Therefore, B and D are not valid.

AbeesvOptions: ABD

However, if a conflict occurs, policy settings that are processed last can overwrite those that are processed earlier. This means that policy settings take precedence in the following order: Organizational Units Domain-level GPOs Site-level GPOs XenApp or XenDesktop Site GPO (stored in the Site database) Local GPO
