300-410 Exam - Question 345

What is the minimum time gap required by the local system before putting a BFD control packet on the wire?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: A

The minimum time gap required by the local system before putting a BFD control packet on the wire is indicated by the Desired Min TX Interval. This is the minimum interval, in microseconds, that the local system would like to use when transmitting BFD Control packets, taking any necessary jitter into account.

Desired Min TX Interval : This is the minimum interval, in microseconds, that the local system would like to use when transmitting BFD Control packets. Required Min RX Interval : This is the minimum interval, in microseconds, between received BFD Control packets that this system is capable of supporting. Answer is A.

Required Min RX Interval: This is the minimum interval, in microseconds, between received BFD Control packets that this system is capable of supporting, less any jitter applied by the sender Required Min RX Interval: This is the minimum interval, in microseconds, between received BFD Control packets that this system is capable of supporting, less any jitter applied by the sender "https://www.networkworld.com/article/2222661/bidirectional-forwarding-detection--bfd----a-little-about-timers.html#:~:text=Desired%20Min%20TX%20Interval%3A%20This,The%20value%20zero%20is%20reserved." A is Answer Desired Min TX Interval: This is the minimum interval, in microseconds, that the local system would like to use when transmitting BFD Control packets, less any jitterapplied. The value zero is reserved. Required Min Echo RX Interval: This is the minimum interval, in microseconds, between received BFD Echo packets that this system is capable of supporting, less anyjitter applied by the sender. If this value is zero, the transmitting system does not support the receipt of BFD Echo packets. Reference: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5880

Not quite, the minimal interval that the local system like to use is the Desired Minimum TX interval. Question 42 expects the minimum interval between received BFD control packets that this system is capable of supporting, hence Min RX Interval.

This value specifies the minimum interval, in microseconds, that the local system would like to use when transmitting BFD control packets. It helps in controlling how frequently the BFD control packets are sent, allowing for the tuning of BFD's detection time.
