Question 494

Refer to the exhibit. An OSPF neighbor relationship must be configured using these guidelines:

✑ R1 is only permitted to establish a neighbor with R2.

✑ R1 will never participate in DR elections.

✑ R1 will use a router-id of 10.1.1.1.

Which configuration must be used?

A.

B.

C.

D.

    Correct Answer:

The proper configuration to meet the criteria is option A. R1 should use a router-ID of 10.1.1.1, which matches the configuration in option A. Additionally, to prevent R1 from participating in the DR election, the OSPF priority is set to 0. The access list in option A is correctly configured to permit OSPF traffic only between R1 and R2 and deny it from other potential neighbors. In contrast, other options either have incorrect OSPF priority settings or use invalid router ID configurations.

OSPF uses port 89 and does not use a transport protocol. A is the answer. EIGRP port 88.

EthanhuntMI6

Thank you.

f2killer

if this is the right answer how the router id is gonna be 10.1.1.1?? In answer D the router id it will assign the loopback.

f2killer

iam wrong. i see now router id ...

PerryThePlatypus

The port 88 is not even among the well-known ports, and if you search for the OSPF protocol in the official documentation, it doesn't mention port 88 for the passage of the relevant packets... but i mean, now you know it...

PerryThePlatypus

Sorry, i mean "Port 89"

daddydagoth

Another thing wrong with answer D is that the command "ospf router ID" is wrong. EIGRP's command is "EIGRP router ID", OSPF uses "Router ID"

[Removed]

B, C, D all use ospf router ID.

Dadits

command is router id no ospf router id you can justify the answer just from this!Save time!

kyleptt

Setting the Ospf priority as zero is the reason why A is the answer.

SeMo0o0o

A is correct OSPF uses port 89 OSPF uses command: router-id EIGRP uses Command: EIGRP router-id

what is host 224.0.0.5 is that the subnet mask it can't be the wiled card someone tell me please

ShanRamu

Answer is A no DR election so priority should be 0, which leads us to A and D only advertise to R2, so this leaves loopback, giving the answer A

PyoJH

I understand that A is the answer. By the way, is it possible to establish an ospf relationship between R1 and R2 if the ACL is applied properly? R1 receives R2's hello packet, but R1 can't send hello packets because of deny 89 any any, so isn't the relationship not established?
