DCACI Exam - Question 226

Refer to the exhibit. An engineer associated EPG-1 with a VMM domain called VMware/west. The VLAN pool west-VLP is configured in VMware/west, and the VMware/west is associated with the AEP called VMware/west-AEP. The corresponding port group failed to be automatically created in vCenter. Which action must the engineer take to resolve the missing port group?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: B

The engineer must include VLANs in the VMware/west-VLP to resolve the missing port group. The VLAN pool (VLP) needs to have specific VLANs defined for the port group creation process to occur successfully in vCenter. Without the necessary VLANs included in the pool, the APIC cannot create the corresponding port group in vCenter.

APIC creates the port group under vCenter with VLAN specified by the user

The only solution is A. Because there is already a VLAN pool assigned. The only thing what is missing are the credentials.

When associating an EPG with a VMM domain in Cisco ACI, the APIC automatically creates a corresponding port group in VMware vCenter. However, the VLAN pool associated with the VMM domain must include a valid VLAN range for this process to succeed. If no VLANs are defined in the VLAN pool (in this case, west-VLP), the port group creation fails because there are no VLANs available for assignment.
