Cisco UCS supports two types of service profile templates: initial and updating templates. Initial templates create service profiles that are not linked to the template and maintain their configuration even if the template changes. Updating templates create service profiles that remain linked to the template, allowing for automatic updates to be applied to the profiles if the template is modified.
