CCNA Exam - Question 170

Which concern is addressed with the use of private IPv4 addressing?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: D

Private IPv4 addressing is used to address the concern of the lack of available publicly routable unique IPv4 addresses. With the explosion of devices connected to the internet, the pool of available IPv4 addresses has been exhausted. Private IPv4 addresses allow for internal network communication without using up the limited pool of public IPv4 addresses. This practice helps conserve the public IPv4 address space by using private ranges that are not routable on the global internet.
