In order for changes made to a policy to be enforced by a Security Gateway, an administrator must 'Install policy'. This is because making changes in a security management system requires those changes to be pushed out to the Security Gateways to take effect. 'Installing policy' ensures that the new or modified policies are implemented on the Security Gateways.
