The Gaia operating system supports which routing protocols?
The Gaia operating system supports which routing protocols?
The Gaia operating system supports the following industry-standard dynamic routing protocols: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Routing Information Protocol (RIP). These protocols enable scalable, fault-tolerant, secure networks by providing dynamic routing capabilities over both single and multiple autonomous systems. Other protocols listed in the options, such as EIGRP, are not supported by Gaia, and PIM and IGMP are specifically multicast routing protocols, not unicast routing protocols. Therefore, the correct answer is BGP, OSPF, and RIP.
Correct Answer is A It says routing protocols, IGMP and PIM are not routing protocols, it's multicast routing. List of Routing Protocols: 1. Routing Information Protocol (RIP) 2. Interior Gateway Protocol (IGRP) 3. Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) 4. Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) 5. Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) 6. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) 7. Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) PIM and IGMP are not Routing Protocols. seems correct, it all depends on the phrasing of the question. Here the question asks for routing protocols. So its A, the other options are no "routing protocols". Maybe the actual exam question is different, that would be a different answer then. Here the only correct solution is A
The Answer is C. https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R80.10/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R80.10_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/html_frameset.htm?topic=documents/R80.10/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R80.10_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/82213
Is IGMP a routing protocol?
No, IGMP is not a routing protocol (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Group_Management_Protocol#:~:text=The%20Internet%20Group%20Management%20Protocol,hosts%20that%20have%20requested%20them.). PIM is a routing protocol for multicast routing, and does rely on IGMP though. Confusing question, but best answer seems to be A. Checkpoint does support PIM, IGMP, OSPF, BGP & RIP though. Tough question.
PIM is not a dynamic routing protocol. Correct answer is A
Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) is a family of multicast routing protocols for Internet Protocol (IP) networks that provide one-to-many and many-to-many distribution of data over a LAN, WAN or the Internet.
Question says "dynamic routing protocol", below is extract from Advance Routing Guide R80 Introduction to Gaia Advanced Routing Gaia OS supports Dynamic Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, and RIP. You can configure Dynamic Routing protocols in the Gaia Portal and Gaia Clish. Gaia OS supports Dynamic Multicast Routing - PIM Sparse Mode (SM), PIM Dense Mode (DM), PIM Source-Specific Multicast (SSM), and IGMP. https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R80.10/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R80.10_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/html_frameset.htm?topic=documents/R80.10/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R80.10_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/82213

The word dynamic is not mentioned in the question. The Gaia operating system supports which routing protocols?
Agreed, C Dynamic Routing; OSPF, BGP, RIP Dynamic Multicast; PIM, IGMP
Solution link is for R76, be wary of this
C is correct. Look R80.30 Admin Guide: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R80.30/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R80.30_Gaia_AdminGuide/html_frameset.htm
The correct answer is C. https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk39960 Routing protocols traffic (OSPF, BGP, PIM, RIP, IGRP) through Check Point Security Gateway
I think the answer is C. BGP, OSPF & RIP are unicast and IGMP & PIM are multicast routing protocols. Both these are routing protocols supported by Gaia the only difference is one is one to one and the other is one to many.
This question has key. They mentioned "ROUTING PROTOCOLOS"... this text is from the GAIA advance routing guide R80.30. Introduction to Gaia Advanced Routing In This Section: IPv6 Support VRRP Support for IPv6 Gaia OS supports Dynamic Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, and RIP. You can configure Dynamic Routing protocols in the Gaia Portal and Gaia Clish. Gaia OS supports Dynamic Multicast Routing - PIM Sparse Mode (SM), PIM Dense Mode (DM), PIM Source-Specific Multicast (SSM), and IGMP. IGMP is not a routing protocol I think is A the correct answer
Dynamic Routing Protocols Multicasting Protocols • RIP RFC 1058 • RIPv2 (with authentication) RFC 1723 • OSPFv2 RFC 2328 • OSPFv3 RFC 5340 • OSPF NSSA RFC 3101 • BGP4 RFCs 1771, 1963, 1966, 1997, 2918 • IGMPv2 RFC 2236 • IGMPv3 RFC 3376 • PIM-SM RFC 4601 • PIM-SSM RFC 4601 • PIM-DM RFC 3973 • PIM-DM state refresh draft-ietf-pim-refresh-02.tx
sorry guys, the correct answer is C. Found it on the mock exam.
Go with "C" as in the ADVANCED routing admin guide it DOES show all four.

A seems more correct ! PIM are IGMP are Multicast protocols
Routing Protocols should cover both unicast (BGP, OSPF, RIP) and multicast (PIM, IGMP) routing protocols
https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/Topics-GARG/Gaia-Advanced-Routing.htm GaiaClosed OS supports: Dynamic Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, and RIP.
Check point doesnt Support IGRP or EIGRP SO its A https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/Topics-GARG/Gaia-Advanced-Routing.htm
This is wrong. Answer is B. as stated in doc:https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_Gaia_Advanced_Routing_AdminGuide/Topics-GARG/Gaia-Advanced-Routing.htm GaiaOS supports: Dynamic Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, and RIP.
