Accept templates are enabled by default on a Security Gateway. This is because the fundamental function of a firewall is to accept or deny traffic based on its security policy, and by default, SecureXL is configured to optimize traffic that is permitted by the security policy. Drop templates are not enabled by default as they are meant to deny traffic, which is handled by other mechanisms. NAT templates are also enabled by default but are only active when Accept templates are enabled, further supporting that Accept templates are indeed the default setting.
