Which of the following is true about Stateful Inspection?
Which of the following is true about Stateful Inspection?
Stateful Inspection looks at both the headers of packets, as well as deeply examining their content. This means it goes beyond simple packet filtering by considering the context of the traffic, making it more effective in tracking the state of network connections and ensuring the legitimacy of traffic passing through a firewall.
Stateful inspection differs from packet filtering in that it deeply examines a packet not only in its header, but also the content of the packet up through the Application layer to determine more about the packet than just information about its source and destination.
