Question 20

What are the correct steps upgrading a HA cluster (M1 is active, M2 is passive) using Multi-Version Cluster(MVC)Upgrade?

    Correct Answer:

First, enable the Multi-Version Cluster (MVC) mechanism on both cluster members to prepare them for the upgrade. Then, upgrade the passive node (M2) to the new version, ensuring it can handle the changes without interrupting services. Once M2 is upgraded, update the cluster object version in SmartConsole to reflect the changes. Subsequently, install the Access Control Policy and verify that it will continue installation even if it fails on one of the cluster members. After confirming the states of the cluster members, proceed to upgrade the active node (M1) to the new version. Finally, disable the MVC mechanism on each cluster member to complete the upgrade process.

When I did the upgrade I used the steps on D (that worked), but based on the documentation posted the answer is C (more correct way). They both work, but for the certification, C.
