Where can administrator edit a list of trusted SmartConsole clients?
Where can administrator edit a list of trusted SmartConsole clients?
The correct answer is that a list of trusted SmartConsole clients can be edited using cpconfig on a Security Management Server, in the WebUI logged into a Security Management Server, and in SmartConsole by navigating to Manage and Settings > Permissions and Administrators > Advanced > Trusted Clients. This encapsulates all possible methods, ensuring comprehensive management capabilities for administrators controlling SmartConsole access.
looks like D: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_SecurityManagement_AdminGuide/Topics-SECMG/Defining-Trusted-Clients.htm?tocpath=Managing%20Administrator%20and%20User%20Accounts%7CManaging%20Administrator%20Accounts%7C_____8
Is no-one reading the question? It is surely D! Where can administrator edit a list of trusted SmartConsole clients? SMARTCONSOLE Clients. This cannot be done with cpconfig full stop. We are not restricting access to GAIA Web UI, we are restricting access to Smart Console. This can only be done in Smart Console
Looks like option D https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_SecurityManagement_AdminGuide/Topics-SECMG/Defining-Trusted-Clients.htm#:~:text=trusted%20client%20settings-,In%20SmartConsole%2C%20go%20to%20Manage%20%26%20Settings%20%3E%20Permissions%20%26%20Administrators,change%20the%20settings%20as%20needed.
Bottom of that link says: Note - Administrators can also configure the GUI Clients in the Check Point Configuration Tool on the Security Management ServerClosed (see cpconfig). On cpconfig page: GUI Clients - Configures the GUI clients that can use SmartConsoleClosed to connect to this server. Should be B I think
the question is , is GUI clients the same as trusted clients !
Option A. correct location in smartconsole is "Manage & Settings > Permissions & Administrators > Trusted Clients." incorrect "Manage & Settings > Permissions & Administrators > Advanced > Trusted Clients."
I vote B, In my management VM, you can use cpconfig to add a new Administrator and you can login in SmartConsole
In SmartConsole, go to Manage & Settings > Permissions & Administrators > Trusted Clients. https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_SecurityManagement_AdminGuide/Topics-SECMG/Defining-Trusted-Clients.htm?tocpath=Managing%20Administrator%20and%20User%20Accounts%7CManaging%20Administrator%20Accounts%7C_____8
B is correct.
B is correct
B is correct
B is Correct
SmartConsole -> Manage & Settings -> Permissions & Administrators -> Trusted Clients CLI - cpconfig -> 3 (GUI Clients) -> Do you want to modify this list (y/n) [y] ? WebUI -> User Management -> Security Management GUI Clients -> GUI Clients
it's totally B: for webui and cli you can find it here https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_Gaia_AdminGuide/Topics-GAG/GUI-Clients.htm and for the smartconsole here: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_SecurityManagement_AdminGuide/Topics-SECMG/Defining-Trusted-Clients.htm
So the answer is D: the question is where you edit a list of trusted SmartConsole Clients. As per your links, SmartConsole clients cannot be added/deleted or changed from https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_Gaia_AdminGuide/Topics-GAG/GUI-Clients.htm.
Correct is B, I checked the installation and the trusted hosts can be edited from all three places.
Disregard my last comment. Answer is A as the location in smartconsole is wrong.
B is indeed correct after first time configuration via webUI or CLI. You can configure gui clients/trusted clients from smart console as well
None of the answers is correct. There are 2 places where you can configure the trusted clients for SmartConsole, 1 via SmartConsole, 2 via cpconfig/mdsconfig. The webUI doesn't give you the option to do so.
It's B https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R81/WebAdminGuides/EN/CP_R81_SecurityManagement_AdminGuide/Topics-SECMG/Defining-Trusted-Clients.htm. Note - Administrators can also configure the GUI Clients in the Check Point Configuration Tool on the Security Management ServerClosed (see cpconfig).
