PII (Personally Identifiable Information) is any data that could potentially identify a specific individual. A full name and birth date together can easily identify an individual, making these two pieces of information constitute PII when exposed together. While an account balance is sensitive information, it does not on its own or together with other options like full name, as clearly and uniquely identify an individual compared to combining a full name and birth date.
