4A0-101 Exam - Question 38

Click on the exhibit.

In the topology shown, router R1 is an ASBR configured to export external routes to OSPF. There are no stub or NSSA areas. Which of the following regarding

LSAs is TRUE?

Show Answer
Correct Answer: D

In an OSPF network, Type 5 LSAs are used to advertise external routes generated by an ASBR (Autonomous System Boundary Router). These LSAs are flooded throughout the OSPF network, reaching all areas except stub or NSSA (Not-So-Stubby Areas), neither of which exist in this topology. Therefore, Router R7 in Area 2 will also receive the Type 5 LSAs generated by Router R1, as there are no specific restrictions preventing this.

I think the awnwer is: B. Only routers R2 and R3 receive Type 5 LSAs advertised by router R1.
