Question 52

The HIM Department maintains 5000,000 records and responds to 5,000 requests for records in a given period of time. What is the record usage rate?

    Correct Answer: A

The record usage rate is calculated by dividing the number of requests for records by the total number of records maintained and then multiplying by 100 to get a percentage. Here, 5,000 requests divided by 5,000,000 records is 0.001. Multiplying this by 100 gives a usage rate of 0.1%, which corresponds to option A.

Discussion
DalemanjoOption: A

The answer is 0.1% = (5000x100)/ 5000000

AtienoOption: B

B -5,000 requests for records / 5,000,000 maintained records x 100 = 1% record usage

GuilandraOption: B

Maybe there was an error with the "0s" and the 5,000,000.00 should actually be 500,000 Therefore it would go like this 5000/500000 = 0.01x100 = 1% But 5000/5,000,000 = 0.001 x 100 = 0.1% Its safe to say based on their answer given the added one "0" too much.

Harleys67Option: A

The correct answer is A not B

AMVossOption: B

I must be calculating this wrong somehow. Isn't it 5,000/5,000,000? If so, this comes out to 0.001, which is 0.1%. This is not an option. How do I get 1%?
